Tournament Prep Course

Join us for an afternoon of fast-paced, timed Mahjong designed to challenge your tempo, sharpen your decision-making, and build confidence at the table! We’re excited to welcome Emily Cox, owner of The Lucky Sparrow in Richmond, who will lead you through this fun and social speed-play experience. Emily will kick things off with instruction, strategy tips, and techniques to help you play efficiently and confidently before the competition begins. Then, it’s time for a mini-tournament! You’ll play practice timed games, and a full 55 minute session with the goal of completing 4 games. Each table will keep score after every game, and prizes will be awarded across multiple categories—there are a variety of ways to win! Bring your 2026 NMJL card and your love of Mahjong for an afternoon of quick thinking, friendly competition, and lots of fun.
