Introduction to American Mahjong - 8/15 & 8/22

Curious about Mahjong but not sure where to begin? Join our Beginner’s Mahjong Class and discover the fundamentals of this timeless and engaging game in a welcoming, relaxed environment. Whether you’re completely new or simply looking to build confidence, this class is designed to guide you step by step through the basics of American Mahjong. This is a two-part introduction class, with two hours per session. The first session will be Saturday August 15th 9:30a-11:30a, and the second session will be Saturday August 22nd 9:30a-11:30a. During the class, you’ll learn: Tile meanings and suits How to read the 2026 National Mahjong League (NMJL) card The Charleston The flow of the game Essential beginner strategies Our goal is to help you learn at your own pace while meeting others and enjoying the rich tradition and fun of Mahjong. All tiles, 2026 NMJL cards, and class supplies will be provided. Please feel free to arrive a few minutes early to find parking on Caroline St. and get settled before the lesson begins.
